Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: Fight is '100 per cent happening' says Fury's manager as Cardiff emerges as potential venue

Tyson Fury’s manager has confirmed that the Anthony Joshua fight is "100 per cent happening" as Cardiff emerges as a potential venue.

The long-awaited British blockbuster fight has been stuck in negotiations in recent months amid an apparent disagreement over the location for the event with Joshua's team having remained insistent it must take place in the UK.

Fury's manager Spencer Brown is confident the fight will still happen - and on home soil, potentially in December.

"It's inching closer and it looks like it could be the British Boxing Bonanza that we all hoped for taking place in Britain," Brown told Your Site.

"Three venues are still under consideration with Cardiff and Wembley still in the running.

"It's looking good, Tyson has been onboard with fighting AJ since the start and he will fight him anywhere.

"November and December are both in play but we like December as an option, everyone would be winding up work for the holidays, it would be the best Christmas party in the world."

Brown added: "I'm 100 per cent that the fight will happen.

"Everyone is still in negotiations, Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren are both onboard but I'm fully confident we can get it done, of course the final say with be with Turki Al-Sheikh, Netflix and SELA but we are on track to getting it done."

Matchroom's Eddie Hearn has meanwhile reiterated his desire to deliver the fight in front of a UK audience.

He told Your Site: "We continue to do everything we can to bring this fight to the UK. We are in constant communication with Netflix and SELA - keep your fingers crossed."

A spokesperson for the Welsh Rugby Union told Your Site in July: "We'd be delighted to host this fight.

"We are very keen to attract more boxing to the stadium, which has a rich history in the sport, enhanced by its closable roof, unrivalled sight lines and unique city-centre location."
