Richarlison returns to training, Mudryk sidelined for 'weeks'

Sage expects Sarr to return to training on Monday

Crystal Palace boss Pierre Sage expects Ismaila Sarr to return to first-team training on Monday, with the winger absent since a potential summer move to Liverpool failed to materialise.

"It's always the same," Sage said.

"He's not with the team for the moment. I thought he would be with us on Monday but it was not the case.

"We expect him next Monday [to start training with the first team]."

Asked if he had spoken to Sarr, Sage said: "He's better and better. He feels better. His face is more open than it was five to ten days ago.

"But that's okay. We want him on the pitch now."

Sage added: "It's not the first time I have dealt with this kind of thing. We have to take care of the player."

Hurzeler hopeful on Azeez debut at Coventry

Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler is hopeful summer signing Femi Azeez will be available for Sundays trip to Coventry.

Azeez, who joined the Seagulls from Millwall on deadline day, is awaiting his debut after sitting out last weekends 1-1 draw with Leeds because of a minor hamstring problem.

"I hope he will be an option, said Hurzeler.

"He will definitely train today with the squad and hopefully everything is fine and then he hopefully is an option for the weekend."

Pochettino: I'd consider being England manager

Mauricio Pochettino is excited about the next four years in charge of the United States but would consider becoming England manager in the future.

Pochettino turned into a household name following a success in the Premier League where he caught the eye with Southampton before he turned Tottenham into title challengers and Champions League runners-up.

A solitary campaign at Chelsea also produced two domestic cup final appearances before the 54-year-old from Argentina made the surprise decision to take over USA before they hosted this summer's World Cup.

When Pochettino was hired in September, 2024, England were still on the lookout for Gareth Southgate's permanent successor and eventually settled on Thomas Tuchel, who remains in charge.

Even though Pochettino is aware of the potential pitfalls of an Argentinian in charge of the English national team, especially after a politically-charged last four clash at the World Cup between the nations, the ex-Spurs boss would be open to the role - but only once he has helped "change football" in America.

"Now with our experience, maybe yes," Pochettino said on England.

"If in way, way back and I am free. "One thing I don't want because after the USA guys kill me, if after you say the headline is 'Mauricio will consider English job,' no, (because) it is like I am considering it now. "No, not now. If I am free (in the future).

"You know why? I think now after all that happens, my respect and the respect is it's football.

"It is true it can be controversial because an Argentinian guy is thinking to maybe one day defend the flag of England and we were involved in a war.

"(But) for me it is because we are very similar in the way we feel the passion of football. I think we are very similar. I love the countryside, I love the farms and here it is amazing.

"Now I am here doing my passion that is football and I cannot work (here) why? It is crazy. I really believe in the diplomatic things, going to talk and for sure to find the best way."

However, Pochettino's current focus is another World Cup cycle and next year's Gold Cup. After Pochettino guided USA to the last-16 of the summer tournament, he added:

"Now it's like (American fans) are very excited about football, that was part of also.

"OK, you have the possibility to go some club, but in the end you have to fight with the same things, and we can provide that new federation, the country, to build something, to be part of, to make history, to change football there.

"We are excited, we are thinking to spend four years, I think to the next World Cup."
