Beau Greaves first woman to win match on PDC European Tour, plays Luke Humphries next at Czech Darts Open

Beau Greaves made more darting history as she became the first woman to win a match on the PDC's European Tour - a feat that secured her a second-round clash with Luke Humphries at the Czech Darts Open.

The 22-year-old rallied from 3-1 down to beat Daryl Gurney 6-4 in Prague on Friday night and will now play world No 2 Humphries in the last-32 on Saturday evening, with the winner meeting Nathan Aspinall or Andrew Gilding in round three on Sunday afternoon.

Greaves' latest landmark moment follows becoming the first woman to hit a nine-darter on the PDC Pro Tour, against Mensur Suljovic back in February, and the first to win a PDC ranking title, doing so when she edged Michael Smith 8-7 at Players Championship 11.

She was also the first woman to qualify for a European Tour event when she reached last month's Hungarian Darts Trophy.

Greaves lost to Rob Cross in the first round in Budapest despite averaging 104 but her run in Prague will now last at least one more match after pinning double one to defeat Gurney, a player she had suffered a narrow 3-2 loss to in round one of the 2026 World Championship.

Greaves said after a contest in which she won three straight legs in 14, 13 and 11 darts: "It feels amazing. It's just so nice to win a game, I was so nervous at the start, I don't know why. It took me so long to get settled.

"It means loads to me, the crowd's fantastic. It's such a tight stage and you feel so much from the crowd. I'm really enjoying it and loving the experience."

The Yorkshirewoman showed tremendous fight to respond from an early two-leg deficit once Gurney produced a 144 checkout - the same finish which had helped him see off Greaves at Alexandra Palace late last year.

On facing Humphries next, a player she met at the 2025 UK Open, Greaves added: "I've played Luke on the big stage before so I know what to expect, he's world class so I'm going to have to play a lot better than I did tonight.

"What more do you want than on a Euro Tour to play one of the best players in the world? I'll look forward to it and I'll be ready."

Elsewhere on Friday, Niko Springer averaged 102 while routing Martin Homola 6-0 to book a second-round meeting with world No 1 Luke Littler.

Springer said of his showdown with Littler: "I have nothing to lose to be honest. I'm feeling very confident. Of course it will be hard, but it's best of 11, so let's go, I'm ready."

Joe Cullen, Dirk van Duijvenbode and Cross were big-name casualties, dumped out by Stephen Burton, Mario Vandenbogaerde and Keane Barry respectively.

Humphries, who, like Littler, received a bye to round two as one of the 16 seeded players, has won the last two Czech Darts Open titles, thrashing Kim Huybrechets 8-1 in the 2024 final and then seeing off Josh Rock 8-5 last year.

'Cool Hand' is targeting a fourth victory in five years at this event having overcome Cross 8-5 in the 2022 final.

Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price are also among the seeds in Prague and will take on Vandenbogaerde and Callan Rydz respectively on Saturday night in the Czech capital.
