The influential Rodri left a formidable legacy having won four Premier League titles and the Champions League among a host of honours with City, before helping Spain to World Cup glory.

Bouaddi has made a composed start to life at City, impressing in his first two Premier League appearances and producing a mature display on his first start against Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Rangers boss Derek McInnes has indicated a move could be in the offing for out-of-favour defender John Souttar.

Amid reports Sottar is set to leave and join Greek side Aris Thessaloniki, McInnes said: "I spoke to John this morning, he trained.

"There's a bit of interest in him from one or two clubs.

Asked if he had spoken to Sarr, Sage said: "He's better and better. He feels better. His face is more open than it was five to ten days ago.

"But that's okay. We want him on the pitch now."

Sage added: "It's not the first time I have dealt with this kind of thing. We have to take care of the player."
